One Shopify jewelry brand we work with grew total sales 74% to $3.61M between May 1 and Sep 30, 2026, with orders up 85% and conversion rate up 57% to 1.07%. A second grew sales 59% to $1.09M while its sessions fell 8%. A third grew sales 30% to $1.32M.

Below are the Shopify admin numbers for all three. Brand names are left out at the clients' request. The numbers are exactly as Shopify shows them, and each % change is Shopify's own comparison for that date range.

Where each brand's growth came from

Sales growth has three sources: more sessions, a higher conversion rate, or a bigger average order. Splitting the numbers above shows each brand grew in a different way.

Brand A grew on volume. Sessions rose 21% and conversion rate rose 57%, so orders rose 85%. Sales rose a little less (74%) because average order value slipped about 6%. More buyers at a slightly lower basket is a trade most brands take at $722K/month.

Brand B grew without more traffic. Sessions fell 8%, yet sales rose 59%. That came from two places: conversion rate up 23%, and average order value up about 17% (sales grew faster than orders, +59% vs +36%). This is the clearest case of growth from fixing what happens after the click rather than buying more traffic.

Brand C grew on order value. Conversion rate barely moved (+0.3%) and sessions rose 19%, but sales rose 30% against 13% more orders, so average order value rose about 15%. At about $626 per order, each extra point of AOV is worth a lot.

What these three have in common

None of them grew by traffic alone. Brand B grew with less traffic. In all three, either conversion rate or average order value rose faster than sessions did. For a jewelry brand, those are the two numbers that depend on product pages, offers and bundles, not on ad spend.

It also shows why there's no single "good" conversion rate for jewelry. Brand C converts at 1.66% and Brand B at 0.57%, and both are growing. See jewelry conversion benchmarks by price tier.

What to do today

Open Shopify admin. Set the date range to your last 5 full months, with the comparison period on. Write down the % change for sessions, orders, total sales and conversion rate. Then work out:

  • Average order value change = (1 + sales change) ÷ (1 + orders change) − 1
  • Was growth from traffic? If sessions grew faster than orders, mostly yes.

If sessions are growing and sales aren't keeping up, the leak is after the click. That's what we fix first. Book a 20-minute call and we'll look at your numbers. We work only with Shopify jewelry brands in the US and Canada.
